Important information for travelers in the Middle East

Important information for Gjensidige/ERGO clients unable to return home due to military action in the Middle East
Although military operations and armed conflict are excluded under the general terms and conditions of insurance contracts, this exclusion will not be applied to clients insured for travel cancellation, travel delay, and travel interruption whose trip began no later than 28 February. Reasonable transport and accommodation costs incurred in connection with a safe return will be compensated in accordance with the insurance agreement.
For clients who have medical expenses insurance, insurable events such as illness or injury that occur for reasons unrelated to military actions will be compensated under the insurance contract. If your insurance policy expires before you are able to leave the country, please contact us and we will extend your contract under the same terms and conditions.
We also recommend that travelers contact their airlines and follow the instructions of the relevant authorities at their destination to clarify reimbursement options and available support. Those currently in the region are urged to remain vigilant, follow the news, monitor updates from Lithuanian diplomatic missions, comply with local authorities’ safety instructions, and follow the guidelines of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
