What is covered by railroad vehicle insurance?
All insured events
In the event of an unforeseen event, the insurance will cover against the following risks:
- fire;
- forces of nature;
- vandalism;
- burglary;
- emergency;
- sudden and unexpected losses.
Fire
coverage is valid against:
- fire which started in or spread from a fireplace that was not intended for that purpose and capable of spreading spontaneously;
- explosion. A container (boiler, pipe, etc.) explodes when its walls are ruptured, resulting in a pressure difference between the inside and outside of the container. If the explosion is caused by a chemical reaction inside the container, the damage caused to the container must be compensated even if the walls do not break. Does not apply to damage resulting from subatmospheric pressure;
- lightning strike.
Forces of nature
coverage is valid against:
- storm;
- hail.
Vandalism
coverage is valid against deliberate actions by third parties which intentionally damage or destroy the insured object.
Burglary
coverage is valid against misappropriation of the insured property or its parts by breaking into locked premises of a protected building or a fully fenced and protected area. Burglary is defined as the physical breaking through barrier structures (e.g. doors, windows, walls, roofs, fences, gates, etc.) limiting access to the place where the insured property is stored, using tools.
Emergency
coverage is valid against damage to or destruction of the insured object when it hits an obstacle while travelling or falls off the rails.
Sudden and unexpected losses
coverage is valid against losses of insured items, except for losses due to reasons that are unequivocally listed as non-insured events or exceptions.
